A Self-Care Morning by the Ocean

After a few busy weeks at work (not to mention everything else that we have all been experiencing this year), I was well and truly burnt out and craving a day off. Finally, after battling the guilt of taking a day off "for no reason" (does anyone else feel guilty for taking days off even though you know you are entitled to??), I took one Monday off and spent the morning walking from Freshwater Beach to Curl Curl Beach along the Curl Curl Boardwalk.

It was a slightly overcast winter day, with keen amateur surfers sitting in the water waiting to jump on the perfect wave. After parking the car and walking onto Freshwater Beach, we found ourselves skipping over rock pools alongside the ocean, all the while looking over Freshwater Beach. 

After making our way across the rockform, we continued along a boardwalk built on the cliffside before reaching Curl Curl Beach for lunch. The walk itself is simple and well maintained. It took just under an hour to walk leisurely from Freshwater Beach to Curl Curl Beach (and only because we kept stopping to take snaps and take in the view). 

I find ocean pools so aesthetically pleasing and calming to watch (although I have never been in one), so I was overjoyed to find not one, but two ocean pools, one at each end of our walk.

I know it will be a while before I can go back again but here's to more mornings by the ocean.
