Day 1 in Iceland - A Quick Stop at Seljalandsfoss

After driving past a couple of towns on our first day in Iceland, we reached our first destination and waterfall in Iceland, Seljalandsfoss. Although this was my second time at Seljalandsfoss, the experience was completely different. Two years ago, we had arrived at Seljalandsfoss in the early evening. It was dark, rainy and windy. The majestic waterfall was illuminated by lights (being one of the more touristy waterfalls around given its accessibility from Reykjavik) but I was only able to enjoy it from the carpark. Memorably, I also ended up losing my camera lens cap in this very carpark.

My experience at Seljalandsfoss this time was completely different as it was perfectly sunny and, after parking the car, we were able to walk towards, and then behind, the waterfall!

I didn't have the right camera equipment for, nor was I an expert at, waterfall photography...so after I few messy snaps (whilst trying to protect my lens from water damage), I gave up and just enjoyed admiring the waterfall up close.

My other favourite thing about Iceland was that it was postcard-worthy picturesque everywhere. After enjoying the actual attraction, we admired the surrounding landscape before hopping back into the car and drove to the next neighbouring foss, Skogafoss.
